Hi guys, welcome back to another reading! Today we are going to be talking about KANEOHE, O’AHU, HAWAII, USA. I know the name is kind of long, but there are many interesting facts that we are going to learn in today’s reading. Tonight we have learned that… People don't realize that there's a Hawaiian language. Some kids go to school in Hawaii and learn the language all day long, so they know how to communicate with people in their day to day life. They have to make sure that they are connected with land because a lot of their cultural events connect with the land. One of the challenges they have to experience is that it's very expensive to live there, like bread and peanut butter are highly expensive. They celebrate thanksgiving differently. They cook imu. They dig a pit and cook it in an oven. That's how they celebrate their Thanksgiving. May is better, because it has better climate weather. September can be the hottest month they have to experience. Their most common word is “aloha,” which means hello. A good common food in Hawaii is to eat tuna by cutting it into small pieces, then marinating it. They like to eat a hamburger patty and cover it with egg. They love to eat shaved ice and put vanilla on the bottom. Beaches are definitely a good place to visit in Hawaii, especially for your first time. The most commonly visited mountain in Hawaii is Ko’olau. It has beautiful standouts on the mountain. You get paid $50,000 as a teacher for your first salary. There are actually black crabs that have been spotted on the beach. The prettiest native flower she likes is a flower called Ilima, a tiny yellow flower. The flower is used to make lei. It's made using between 500-1,000 small Ilima flowers. The climate in Hawaii is consistently a warm, tropical climate, with mild temperatures year- around . You're not allowed to touch sea turtles. It's illegal to approach dolphins. It's also illegal to dig up native plants. It's also very illegal to touch sea lions. They randomly feel earthquakes. The last tropical storm that caused some damage was about 9 years ago. They grow bananas that are call apple bananas and ice cream bananas. In Hawaii, the red worm cucumber refers to a conspicuous sea cucumber, known as the Opheodesoma Spectabilis, a worm like sea creature that is found in the Kaneohe Bay, and Pearl Harbor. They often can be sprawled on sand or seaweed in shallow water. They have some of the original food markets, like Chick-fil-A, that was recently built, Mcdonalds, and Burger King (sadly not Chipotle). Surprisingly, there is a Dairy Queen in Hawaii located in Honolulu.

12:30 AM - MYSTERY CALL - Kahalulu, Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawaii, USA

When: March 10th @ 12:30 AM (March 9th @ 8:30 PM in Hawai'i)

Where: MYSTERY CALL - Kahalulu, Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawaii, USA

Who: Kimberly Jones

Northern hemisphere, Kahalulu, is where the location is. It is hot and sunny. They usually have dry weather. It has a lot of bugs and is a more outdoorsy place. Hawai'i would be a good place to move to if you like fishing, swimming, canoeing, and doing many other active activities. There is a sovereignty movement that they have going on there. Hawaiian has its own language. There is a lot of connection to culture. Everything is very expensive like housing and shopping. Lichi is a very popular food in Kahalulu. Hawaii also has American food, Asian inspired food, and Polyenesian food. The traffic is horrible and you would be stuck in traffic forever. The Chinamans Hat Mokoli’i is a small basalt island located in Kaneohe Bay near Kualoa Ranch. The graduations are huge. The houses in Hawaii tend to be old. They tend to have modern technology, but the house designs tend to be older. Not everyone is welcome into Kahalulu. Many people don’t see people from other countries as welcome.

A misconception is that it is a paradise to live there. There are hurricanes and bad weather. You have to have a job because you have to pay for how expensive it is. It is very difficult to care for a full family and pay for a job. If you are going to spend money there it would be better to buy from local groceries.

There is a lot of multigenerational housing. Landmarks in Hawaii include Na Pali Coast State Wilderness, Waimea Canyon State Park, and Lihue. Kahalulu is very local and most people know each other. There are a lot of chickens, feral cats, and geckos. During whale season there are a lot of whales. There are also dolphins in the oceans. There are a lot of restaurants. There also are some restaurants from America like Chick-fil-a, Wendys, and Sonic. Sports in Hawaii include surfing and stand-up paddleboarding. The Albizia tree is a tree farmers are trying to get rid of because it has turned into an invasive species.

It was currently 9:09 PM over there in Kahalulu.

Hawai'i is a great place to live, except for a lot of financial problems and weather problems.

Right now, we are interviewing Hawaii. It's very humid and sticky. The houses, stores, and buildings are very expensive. If you're an ou door persons, then Hawaii is the best place to visit! There are a lot of mosquitoes there. Even though living or visiting Hawaii can be fun, there are some downfalls. For example, schools are different. But that shouldn't stop you from visiting or living there. Hawaii is known for its beautiful places to see, such as beaches, people, and the culture. Right now, it's currently 5:38 P.M in Kane'oke, Hawaii. They are 5 hours behind us. Some of the best things about Hawaii are the beautiful oceans and equal access. There are no private beaches, so the beaches are open for anyone. The people there are also very nice! No matter where you live, Hawaii will welcome you, and it's still a very nice place to visit. The climate is just the right temperature, and it's very fun for people who enjoy the outdoors. Hawaii is also known for their volcanoes. They can be very dangerous but they help Hawaii grow bigger. Did you know that Hawaii doesn't have snakes? Because of the volcanic eruptions, there aren't many diverse wildlife on land.  Hogs are an invasive species that were brought over to Hawaii and huge rats. People who can't afford a house in Hawaii are force to leave the island. A word used a lot is "cahine," which can be used for anything! Even though, there is little biodiversity, there is still a lot of nature there. The beautiful culture is happy, bright, and welcoming. Hawaii is a great place to vacation! You can enjoy the views, the food, and culture.
